Eleven champions kick off TC Junior Circuit

3/18 - USTA L7 Boys and Girls 12U

3/19 - USTA L7 Boys and Girls 14U

A new year continues the road to the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP with a new name. The Sweet Spotter Series has become the Tennis Central Junior Circuit with all the same drama and outstanding tennis.

Over four tournaments on March 18-19, eleven different champions emerged mostly from group stage play. There was also one large 12U traditional single-elimination event for the boys, from which Oliver Marin Cohen emerged the victor in the only proper final of the weekend. Marin Cohen jumps to 12th in the rankings thanks to the championship.

The rest of the champions went unbeaten in their groups of four or five players to earn 60 ranking points. Deniz Ozenci, a second-place finisher, earned the highest ranking jump after the weekend, going up to 9th in the 12U Rankings. Serena Provinse, winner of a 14U group, made the longest leap of the girls into 15th on the 14U Tour.

The first events of 2023, however, were not the first in the calculations for The Tour Championship qualification for September 2023's big event. All the fall events of 2022 will count toward qualifying in the 52-week rankings calendar.

12U Boys: Oliver Marin Cohen

12U Girls Group Winners: Sandhya Lakshmanan, Elizabeth Agbomson, Carnelie Desir

14U Boys Group Winners: Tomas Benamor, Felipe Limao, Nathan Harris, Mohammad Abbasi

14U Girls Group Winners: Serena Provinse, Nicoletta Savvas, Daphne Dunlap

The full tables now look like this.

Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at Holton-Arms School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.

Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.

Check here for updates each week to the Tennis Central Tour Rankings, a 52-week points system based on the pro tours, as well as recaps of all the action and photos.
