A huge Memorial Day Weekend

The Road to the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

14U Boys - USTA - 5/28 - 5/29

14U Girls - USTA - 5/28 - 5/29

18U Boys - USTA - 5/28 - 5/29

18U Girls - USTA - 5/28 - 5/29

10U - UTR - 5/29

More than fifty players took part in five separate tournaments over Memorial Day Weekend for the largest Sweet Spotter Series event in its short history, coming from as far as Newtown, PA.

Second-seeded William Stallings of Chevy Chase won the 14U Boys final and 120 rankings points. Washington DC's top-seeded Robert Dorros won a tough semifinal against Luke Dal Bo, 4-2, before falling in the final, 6-3. After just one tournament, that places both finalists in the top six of the 14U rankings.

Juliana Dal Bo and Pratika Devanshi both won their 14U Girls groups to take home maximum points. Devanshi only dropped one game the whole tournament, while Dal Bo overcame stern tests from Siena Propst and Francesca Christo.

At the 18U Boys tournament, two Virginians reached the championship. Patrick Barry cruised to a 6-1 victory in the final over Michael Fleming, who slipped past Luke Wang in the semifinals 5-3. Just as at the 14U level, the two finalists reached third and sixth in the Sweet Spotter Series rankings.

Alexandra Koeva Brooks took the single-elimination 18U Girls tournament by winning the final against Atlee Hilliard, 6-3. The winner now sits in seventh place in the rankings.

The weekend's sole UTR tournament pitted 10U players against each other in a single group on Sunday, with Razi Dinan emerging unbeaten for the championship. Dinan jumps to fifth in the race to the Tour Championship.

The full tables now look like this.

Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at The Landon School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.

Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.
