The Road to THE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

Apr 16 - USTA Boys' and Girls 12U

Apr 16 - USTA Boys' and Girls 14U

Thirty-three players duked it out at the USTA opener for Tennis Central's spring of TC Junior Circuit play. Three champions emerged from 12U Boys, Girls, and 14U Girls, while three different group winners took the accolades in the largest draw, 14U Boys.

Brothers met in the final of the 12U Boys single-elimination draw, with Sidharth Ramprasad prevailing over Niranjan, 6-1. The closest final took place between Reza Radmanesh and Havish Gudur for Group C of the 14U Boys. Gudur won 7-5 to take the crown.

But the tightest group belonged to Kiran Mathura, who had to fend off both Spencer Weiss and Pranav Alladu 6-4. Alladu then defeated Weiss 6-2 to claim second place and 30 points.

It was also the first week that the rankings scrambled based on the previous year's points, so players jumped around considerably. Finn Jackson, who played this weekend, took the 10U lead narrowly over Siena Auzoux. Just five points separate the two. At 12U, incredibly, there's a three-way tie. The triumvirate with 250 points Rohan Bhagat, Sritha Adapala, and the current week's champion David Gong.

William van Horne looks to vault up the 16U rankings by playing up from his usual age group this weekend at the Potomac Spring Tennis Festival Open, the 14U and 16U UTR event.

14U Boys: Kiran Mathura, David Gong, Havish Gudur

The full tables now look like this.

Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at Holton-Arms School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.

Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.
