Sweet Spotter opener a thriller

The Road to the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Annika Kanumilli and Leo Berger both ran the tables in their groups without dropping a game to earn the overall championship for the first Sweet Spotter Series tour stop this year.

They earn the maximum 80 points each toward qualification for the Tour Championship at season's end. Earning just below that based solely on match scores were group winners Michelle Wu and Salomon Mercado, the latter of whom emerged from the tightest group of all, in which each player finished 1-1.

Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at The Landon School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.

Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.
