Just before the Independence Day break, the Sweet Spotter Series crowned three more champions. USTA 12U titles went to John Goddard Connell and Helena Seiken, while Arnav Nadikatla won the 10U UTR Tournament to claim a victory for a third consecutive week.
JGC took the boys' championship with three straight close, 6-4 wins, earning the title through a cauldron of fire. Augustine Marin Cohen was the finalist who fell by such a close margin, but quarterfinalist Christian Choi and semifinalist Ajay Chandela also took Goddard Connell to the brink.
Top seed Seiken had no such fuss on route to the championship. Her closest match came in the semis against third seed Emma Le, 6-3, and then demonstratively won the final over Shirtha Adapala 6-0.
Nadikatla went to the 12U boys' semifinals before Augustine Marin Cohen snapped his consecutive trophy streak. He had defeated Asher Roush 6-3 the previous day at the 10U UTR Tournament to claim his third win on the trot. He keeps his commanding hold of the 12U Tour rankings, though JGC and Seiken shoot up to third place.

Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at The Landon School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.
Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.
