Choi grabs first win in season finale

Blue Glove Open: Winter 2022-23, Week 17

Emma Choi is the Player of the Week after nabbing her first win over debutante Asher Abedin 8-4 last weekend in Group C play. Choi had come close many times and finally earned the just desserts for hard work, as the standings attest. Thirty-two games won in just eight matches is not the kind of effort that goes unrewarded.

In midtable Group A, Solomon Ravitz again proved his mettle with an 8-3 victory over Ilan Faraci. Both Incubator players will be forces to be reckoned with once Spring Season starts next week, the standings reset, and the playing field in terms of matches played will be more level.

Tomas Mulita has also stretched out his advantage in Group A, backing up his recent defeat of Yael Lan with another, 8-3. He finishes seventh in the group, just behind Lan.

A number of vacations meant that we still have Winter Finals to look forward to. Alvaro Orlove and Spencer Weiss will reignite their rivalry as the Spring Season progresses, as will the other finalists.
