Isaac Villa Martin took home the silverware after a grueling day of competition that included five group matches, a semifinal, and a final. Jeremy Chud won his group and a tight 6-4 semifinal against the best second-placed player in the three groups, Zi Yang, but his cramping led to Villa Martin claiming the title uncontested.
Noah Geller-Pawlak, representing France, also won a group title before falling in the semifinal.
That means Chud leads the overall rankings in both 14U and 16U, while the other semifinalists move into qualifying spots for the Tour Championship at the moment.
At the 10U UTR event, Leo Berger and Razi Dinan almost went the distance in a de facto final, with Berger emerging 7-5 and now topping the 10U Tour Rankings list. By virtue of her third-place finish and a strong opening performance in April, Michelle Wu hops into a tie for fourth with Kavian Moinfar.
The tables now look like this, with only the 12U rankings lists still to come.
Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at The Landon School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.
Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.
