Snow wins Player of Week

Blue Glove Open: Winter 2022-23, Week 6

We haven't seen much or any of regular snow this winter, but we're seeing a lot of Jake Snow. He was able to stifle the challenge of newer player Krishna Ramaswamy to claim the Player of the Week honors.

Ramaswamy held second place in Group C behind Elina Ipakchi's four wins and remains there following the loss, while Snow moves to 2-0 on the season, good for third. But everyone knows he is on the march.

The top of the table produced a clash with great anticipation: Spencer Weiss against Yael Lan. After falling in possibly the match of the season, 8-6 to Alvaro Orlove last week, Weiss bounced back for an emphatic 8-2 win to stretch his Group A lead. Lan falls to fourth in the group.

Orlove, meanwhile, did not sit idly. He took on Ariana Ipakchi and jumped into second place in Group A thanks to his 8-2 win and now 2-0 record.

Group D featured some reshuffling as well. Nicolas Kidd is now 3-0 after defeating Ted Wang 8-3.

The cold has truly descended upon us after waiting so long to emerge this winter, with the only matches indoors this past weekend, well outside of the NFL Championship games. With only one match outdoors on Saturday at high noon, Sunday looks warmer for the Pro-Bowl bye weekend of play.

The Winter Season continues! Join us on our RACE TO CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND when the Group Finals will be played. Continue the journey through the fall and winter with our outdoor and indoor BGO matches, our Travel Team, and the new USTA and UTR tour---the Sweet Spotter Series.

Each weekend Tennis Central hosts two USTA or UTR tournaments. Earn points for reaching each successive round just like at the ATP/WTA Tour, and qualify for the season-ending TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP, all while earning USTA and UTR points too. If you love the BGO, you'll love the Sweet Spotter Series.

Coming soon in 2023!
